2014 Eat Local Challenge Calendar of Events

The Eat Local Challenge is more than just 30 days of eating locally. It is your chance to learn more about local food production from some of the best growers and food artisans in our region!

The month of June is packed full of great events allowing you to explore the local food and the green scene in Southeastern Louisiana.  Classes are free or offered at a discount to participants of the challenge.

  • {8} Gelato Making Class with La Divina
  • {8} Local Foods Bingo! with a Specially Brewed “locavore” keg from Covington Brewhouse
  • {10} Local Foods Foraging Tour into the batture to find wild berries and other edibles
  • {11} Distillery Tour
  • {12} Blueberry Picking Excursion
  • {13} Retrofitting Workshop: “How to make your home more energy efficient” by Global Green

We are still assembling the dates and will have all of the times costs and details in place soon.
